Social Commitments

Karunya
We believe that enterprises have a society responsibility to play. As a company, we honor this responsibility in all of our decisions and actions. As a humble beginning, we started a social service forum named "KARUNYA".
This forum was started within the company by our employees in October 2008. This is run by a team of dedicated employees along with extensive support from the management.
Over a period of 10 months since commencement, this forum has organized various events to benefit other charitable organizations as well as the needy and the less fortunate. The mission of our forum is to provide due care and treatment for economically backward people suffering from grave diseases. The unwavering support of Palnar employees, who have contributed whole heartedly towards every cause, is the driving force behind such a charity initiative.
Our charity forum collects contributions from the employees on a monthly basis for dispensing medical aid to those who cannot afford it and are genuinely in need.
We are also actively involved in similar activities with the purpose of providing assistance to those in the society who need reassurance and support-financial or emotional-to overcome various challenges of life, thereby working for the betterment of the society.
Through our charity forum we are able to look beyond its statutory obligations and take steps to improve the quality of life of the local community and society at large.

Carpooling
The Web site, www.parkcarpool.in was launched in partnership with Palnar Transmedia. The carpooling was conceptualised by GTech (A group of Technopark Companies) to reduce the carbon footprint of the IT industry in Kerala.
The underlying objective of the Web site is to help the IT community in the State to travel together in order to save money and fuel and to reduce global warming and traffic on the roads.
The website is targeted at 30,000 IT professionals working at Technopark and Infopark in Kochi.Users can register for free in the Web site by providing the relevant information and can search for travel mates who commute to Technopark or Infopark.
Once a request for registration is submitted at the Web site, it is verified as a safety measure by the GTech administrator before the registration is approved.

Just after the deadly Tsunami waves attacked the south west cost of India, Palnar founded the Lebenslicht Charitable Trust with the generous support from the three German Cities Bad Waldsee, Bergatreute and Wolfegg in Germany to rehabilitate the affected people. Within a span of just four months after the tsunami catastrophe, Lebenslicht successfully constructed five houses and a state-of-the-art Kindergarten for the tsunami-affected and poor children in the South Indian town of Colachel. This long-term social project is another testimony to our commitment to the society. Please visit www.lebenslicht.org for more information.
